Guide to the best New York restaurants.

New York has always been one of my favourite cities especially when it comes down to the restaurants. There are so many choices all across town and it’s often hard to make a decision where to go when you have such a big array of places to choose from. In this article, you will find my four favorite places to eat at when in New York! I have a ton more but these are just my top four.

Jack’s wife Freda

With a location in SoHo and one in West Village, Jack’s wife Freda is my go-to brunch place every time I get to New York. It is an American-Mediterranean cooking style dinner and the ambiance there is incredible. Their menu is really hard to choose from but my personal favorite has to be the green Shakshuka which is made with green tomatillo and served with challah toast. They also make fresh juices (their mint lemonade is to die for) and their lattes are absolutely amazing. There can be a small line outside depending on when you go but it is absolutely worth the wait!

By Chloe

By Chloe has multiple locations around the city and is a 100% vegan restaurant. Their goal in creating the restaurant was to redefine the meaning of eating well along with sharing delicious, plant-based food. They definitely achieved that goal by providing their customers with a diverse menu that is tasteful and has something for everyone. If you’re not sure what to get, I highly suggest the guac burger as well as the sweet potato fries. If you’re getting fries too, they have an homemade chipotle aioli as well as beet ketchup, both of which are very tasty!

Queen’s comfort

Comfort food at it’s best. As the name states, this place is located in Astoria, Queens. Filled with movie memorabilia, posters and tons of figurines, this place has a little something for everyone. They have a projector on the wall where they project movie onto and everything to make you feel at home. It took us a long time to decide what to get and when we did, we ordered WAY too much food. The portions are very big and the food is incredibly big. Their capt’n crunch battered chicken fingers were drool-worthy and the three cheese mac n’ cheese almost brought a tear to my eye. Only sidenote, this is a cash only restaurant so don’t forget to bring some bills with you!

You’ve probably seen this on facebook in the last couple of weeks and we decided to go wait the line and see if it was worth the hype. It was. The wait time wasn’t too long and it was well organized with people passing out menu for faster decisions and tickets to know where you stood in the line and to avoid line cutters! Another tip if you do decide to get cookie dough, either share with someone or only get one scoop! It’s incredibly rich and although very tasty, it will fill you up in a matter of seconds. The cookie dough is eaten raw but you can also purchase some to go and cook it at home!

There you have it! Let me know what your favourite New York restaurants are, I’d love to try some new ones!
